Our Pastor

Pastor Kristen Metcalf is a preacher, teacher and writer who cares deeply about serving the underserved and including the marginalized in her ministry. After serving in ministerial roles and being an active member of the UCC, she now feels called by the Holy Spirit to the post of Designated Pastor of Salem UCC, her home church since 2017. 

    A graduate of Pentecostal Theological Seminary, she began her ministry in eastern Tennessee. From there she relocated to Southeastern Michigan to begin her ordination journey with the United Church of Christ.

Karen Metcalf

Minister of Children, Youth, and Families


Karen is excited to be part of Salem UCC youth ministry. She has over two decades of experience working with children and youth ministry in both Michigan and Tennessee. Karen serves the Salem community alongside her wife, Pastor Kristen, and is passionate about helping families have honest, "faith-full" discussions about what it means to grow together with Christ today. 

Mina Cohen

Nursery Attendant


Mina is a caregiver in all aspects of life and brings that same level of caring into Salem UCC's nursery. She has spent most of her life caring for children in the Farmington area and has a special place in her heart for toddlers and babies. She has served in Salem's nursery for over a decade.

Kathy Heath

Church Administrator


Kathy has faithfully and joyfully served Salem UCC for over 20 years, providing wonderful care and attention to detail in Salem's services, ministries, and outreach events.
